Diagenetic trends in the Carpathian Foredeep

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis was to determine the degree of thermal transformation of the sedimentary rocks of the Carpathian Miocene with the vitrinite reflectance. The dispersed organic matter was also evaluated for the dominant of the maceral type. Based on this information, it is possible to characterize the expected paleo-depositional environment. There were 25 samples from 13 boreholes from the central part of the Carpathian foredeep. For all samples, vitrinite reflectance was determined and maceral analysis was performed on selected samples. In order to evaluate regional distribution and depth trends, an archive data of vitrinite reflectance (31 values from 20 boreholes) were found. To evaluate the thermal transformation trend objectively, an archive data (a total of 107 data) of pyrolysis RockEval (RE) were used. The vitrinite reflectance values (% Rr) in boreholes Got 1, Got 2, Tl 1 and Luk 1 are continuously increasing with the depth from 0.36 % Rr to 0.58 % Rr. A deviation from trend (sample Got 2, 4729 m) is due to a high ratio of inertinite in the sample. In samples from Koryčany 9 and 13 boreholes, the vitrinite reflectance ranges from 0.61% Rr to 0.69% Rr, and from Mouchnice 1, 2 boreholes, vitrinite reflectance ranges from 0.65 % Rr to 0.74 % Rr. The vitrinite reflectance of organic matter from the boreholes of Ždánice 135, 147 and 175, Snovídky 1 and Žarošice 2 shows significantly higher values (0.66 % Rr – 0.75% Rr) compared to other parts of the Carpathian foredeep. Samples also contain a high ratio of organic matter in which liptinite is significantly represented. Maceral analysis of dispersed organic matter in the sediments of the Carpathian foredeep enabled to determine dominant maceral composition. The analysis showed that the decisive parameter is the ratio of the liptinite component.

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce bylo určit stupeň tepelné přeměny hornin miocénu karpatské předhlubně pomocí odraznosti vitrinitu. V přítomné rozptýlené organické hmotě bylo stanoveno macerálové složení. Na základě této informace je možné charakterizovat paleo-sedimentační prostředí. K dispozici bylo 25 vzorků z 13 vrtů z centrální části karpatské předhlubně. U všech vzorků byla stanovena odraznost vitrinitu a na vybraných vzorcích byla provedena macerálová analýza. Aby bylo možné vyhodnotit regionální distribuci a hloubkové trendy, byly vyhledány archivní data odraznosti vitrinitu (31 hodnot z 20 vrtů). Pro objektivní posouzení trendu tepelné přeměny byly použity archivní data (celkem 107 údajů) pyrolýzy RockEval (RE). Hodnoty odraznosti vitrinitu (% Rr) ve vrtech Got 1, Got 2, Tl 1 a Luk 1 plynule rostou s hloubkou od 0,36 % Rr do 0,58 % Rr. Odchylka od trendu (vzorek Got 2, 4729 m) je způsobena vysokým podílem inertinitu ve vzorku. Ve vzorcích z vrtů Koryčany 9 a 13 se odraznost vitrinitu pohybuje od 0,61 % Rr do 0,69 % Rr a z vrtů Mouchnice 1, 2 se odraznost vitrinitu pohybuje od 0,65 % Rr – 0,74 % Rr. Odraznost vitrinitu organické hmoty z vrtů Ždánice 135, 147 a 175, Snovídky 1 a Žarošice 2 vykazuje výrazně vyšší hodnoty (0,66 % Rr – 0,75 % Rr) v porovnání s ostatními částmi karpatské předhlubně. Vzorky také obsahují vysoký podíl macerálů ze skupiny liptinitu. Macerálová analýza rozptýlené organické hmoty v sedimentech karpatské předhlubně umožnila určit převažující macerálové složení. Analýza prokázala, že rozhodujícím parametrem je podíl macerálů liptinitu.
