The Impact of Budgetary Constraints of European and World States on Strategic Planning of Med Povrly Corp.

Abstract:

Práce seznamuje čtenáře se strategickým plánováním. Rozebírána je zde strategie jako taková a s ní související typy plánování ve vztahu k úrovním strategického řízení. Kapitola, která je z hlediska návaznosti na praktickou část nejdůležitější, se týká fází strategického plánování. Čtenář se také dovídá o rozpočtových omezeních vybraných států Evropy a světa a o situaci v USA. Protože se práce primárně zabývá strategickým plánováním ve společnosti Měď Povrly, a. s., která obchoduje s mědí na komoditních trzích, obsahuje práce nastínění vývoje trhu s tímto kovem včetně největších producentů a spotřebitelů. Jedním z průběžných závěrů autora je zjištění, že strategické plánování zkoumané společnosti nenese charakteristické rysy postupů daných teorií a že výchozí předpoklady nejsou v souladu se zjištěnou skutečností. Důležitým faktem komentovaným v závěru práce je poznatek, že pokud společnost nebude inovovat, jako to dělají konkurenti, lehce ji pohltí technický pokrok.

Abstract:

The work acknowledges the reader with strategic planning. A strategy is discussed here as such where related types of strategies are layed down in relation to the levels of strategic management. The following description of the phases of strategic planning implementation constitutes the core line for the further practical aplication. The reader also learns about the budgetary constraints of selected countries in Europe and the World, especially about the situation in the U.S.. Due to the fact that the work primarily deals with strategic planning at Měď Povrly, Inc. and their copper trading in commodity markets, it assesses the overall market trends together with rival producers and potential consumers. One of the intermediate findings of the author was a conclusion that the strategic planning of the concerned company was not in line with the theory and that the presupposed conditions are not coherent with the current state of affairs. The important fact is the observation that if the company does not innovate, the technological advancements of others will eventually cease its progress.
