The Role of Intellectual Property Rights in the EU Countries

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce „Úloha duševního a průmyslového vlastnictví v zemích Evropské unie“ je analýza problematiky duševního vlastnictví v širších souvislostech. Úvodem představuji teoretické poznatky z oblasti duševního vlastnictví a zejména popis jednotlivých forem duševního vlastnictví a zhodnocení jejich vývoje v České republice v posledních letech. Dále se zaměřuji na historický vývoj mezinárodního obchodu a vznik prvních mezinárodních dohod na ochranu duševního vlastnictví a zároveň hodnotím, jaký je v současnosti postoj Evropské unie k duševnímu vlastnictví a její konkurenceschopnost na světovém trhu v oblasti inovací. K analyzování se dostávám i v závěrečné části, kde vyhodnocuji současný stav v ochraně duševního vlastnictví a představuji nejenom ekonomické, ale i společenské důsledky, které vznikají z příčin porušování práv duševního vlastnictví.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis „The Role of Intellectual Property Rights in the EU Countries” is an analysis of the intellectual property issue in broader context. In the beginning of my thesis I introduce theoretical knowledge in the field of intellectual property and especially a description of various forms of intellectual property and the evaluation of their development in the Czech Republic in the last few years. I also focus on historical development of international trade and the origin of first international agreements for the protection of intellectual property and at the same time I also evaluate the attitude of the EU to intellectual property and its competitiveness on the world market in the field of innovation. I also analyze in the last chapter where I evaluate the current state in the protection of intellectual property and present not only economic but also social consequences which are caused by violation of intellectual property laws.
