Effect of Dance Movement Therapy Aplication on Social Functioning of People with Intellectual Disability

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce je vliv prvků taneční a pohybové terapie na sociální fungování lidí s mentálním postižením. V teoretické části jsou popsána teoretická východiska, terapeutické prvky, cíle a účinky taneční a pohybové terapie, sociální fungování lidí s mentálním postižením z hlediska konceptu sociálního fungování podle Bartlettové a aplikace taneční a pohybové terapie v sociální práci s lidmi s mentálním postižením. Metodologická část popisuje postup při přípravě a realizaci kvalitativního výzkumu, prováděného se čtyřmi tanečními lektorkami a pěti sociálními pracovníky/pracovníky v sociálních službách ze třech zařízení poskytujících sociální služby lidem s mentálním postižením v České republice. V empirické části jsou interpretovány výzkumné poznatky a závěru práce je zodpovězena hlavní výzkumná otázka: „Jaký je vliv uplatňovaných prvků taneční a pohybové terapie na sociální fungování lidí s mentálním postižením?“ a jsou navržena i některá doporučení pro další výzkumy.

Abstract:

The topic of the thesis is Effect of Dance Movement Therapy Aplication on Social Functioning of People with Intellectual Disability. The theoretical part of the thesis decribes theoretical principles of dance movement therapy, therapeutical instruments, goals and effects, social functioning of people with intellectual disability viewed from Bartlett concept of social functioning and the position of dance movement therapy in social work with people with intellectual disability. The methodological part of the thesis desribes the usage of a qualitative exploration strategy, conducted with dance instructors and five social workers/. The empirical part focuses on the analysis and interpretation of research findings obtained through interviews with four dance lectors and five social workers/ workers in social services from three social service organisations. In conclusion of the thesis the author answered the following main research question: “What is the effect of dance movement therapy aplication on social functioning of people with intellectual Disability?” and also suggested some recommendations for further research.
