Coming out of the closet of homosexuals

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou coming outu homosexuálně orientovaných jedinců v období dospívání. Autorka se zaměřuje na strach, který vyvolává možná reakce rodiny. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části vymezuje homosexualitu; coming out, a to jak vnitřní, tak vnější; období dospívání, ve kterém coming out respondentů započal a probíhal; rodinu, která je důležitým prvkem v coming outu respondentů a strach. V praktické části autorka přibližuje výzkumný vzorek a výzkumné otázky. Rozděluje vzorek respondentů na dvě skupiny podle toho, jak jejich coming out v rodině proběhl. Obě skupiny dále rozebírá pomocí otevřeného kódování, axiálního kódování a ke konci využívá selektivní kódování k vyvození závěrů. Cílem bakalářské práce bylo zjistit, zda respondenti prožívali strach v průběhu coming outu v rodině, co jej vyvolávalo a zda se strachu z coming outu dalo předejít.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of coming out of homosexually oriented individuals in adolescence. The author focuses on the fear of possible family reactions. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part he defines homosexuality; coming out, both internal and external; the period of adolescence in which the coming out of the respondents began and took place; family, which is an important element in coming out of respondents and fear. In the practical part, the author approaches the research element and research questions. It divides the element of respondents into two groups according to how their coming out in the family went. It further analyzes both groups using open coding, axial coding, and finally uses selective coding to draw conclusions. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to find out whether the respondents experienced fear during the coming out in the family, what evoked it and whether the fear of coming out could be prevented.
