Human Resources Management in the Hospitality

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na studie a porovnání systémů řízení lidských zdrojů dvou menších hotelů stejné kategorie First Class. Cílem práce je zhodnocení procesů personálního řízení obou podniků, identifikace kritických míst a vypracování návrhů na zdokonalení. Vedlejším cílem je posouzení spokojenosti zaměstnanců s procesy jejich odměňování, hodnocení, vzdělávání a rozvoje. Teoretická část uvádí čtenáře do managementu lidských zdrojů: seznamuje se základními pojmy, cíli, provádí historickým vývojem, věnuje se vlivům, které působí na personální řízení. Zdůrazňuje také specifika řízení zaměstnanců v oboru Hotelnictví. Popisuje metody výběru pracovníků a různé teorie motivací. Analytická část začíná představením dvou vybraných hotelů – počtem jejich zaměstnanců, organizačními strukturami, styly vedení aj. Daná část je zaměřena na výzkum a porovnání systémů řízení hotelu Deminka Palace a Assenzio. Pro naplnění cílů budou použity metody dotazování zaměstnanců a doplňující rozhovory s pracovníky a vedoucími. Pro posouzení efektivnosti řízení lidských zdrojů z pohledu hostů bude také provedena analýza názorů zákazníků na kvalitu poskytovaných služeb. Návrhová část prezentuje moje vlastní zjištění a subjektivní úsudky ohledně systémů personálního řízení vybraných hotelů. Na základě zjištěných informací budou vypracována a navržena zajištění a doporučení pro zdokonalení existujících systémů.

Abstract:

The master’s thesis focuses on the study and comparisons of human resource management systems of two First Class category smaller hotels. The objective of this thesis is to evaluate the processes of personnel management of both companies, identify the critical points and to develop proposals for improvement. The secondary objective is to evaluate employee satisfaction with the processes of their remuneration, performance evaluation, training, and development. The theoretical section introduces the reader to Human Resource Management. It familiarizes with basic concepts, goals, historical background, explains the influences that affect personnel management, emphasizes the specifics of employee management in the Hospitality industry, describes employee selection methods and various theories of motivation. The analytical section starts with a performance of selected hotels – number of employees. organizational structures, styles of management, etc. This part focuses on the research and comparison of human resource management systems at Deminka Palace and Assenzio. To fulfill the objectives, methods of employees questionnaire survey and supplementary interviews with staff and management will be used. To evaluate the effectiveness of human resource management from the perspective of the guest, analysis of customer feedback on service quality will be performed. The proposal part presents my own ascertainment and subjective judgments regarding the personnel management system of selected hotels. Based on this information the proposals for improvement of existing systems will be developed.
