The image of handicapped character in Literature for Children and Youth

Anotácia:

Diplomová práce Obraz postiženého hrdiny v literatuře pro děti a mládež se věnuje dětské literatuře, která se zabývá tematikou postižení. Úvodní teoretické části práce jsou zaměřeny na postižení mentální a fyzická, dále na dětskou literaturu obecně. V empirické části práce jsou analyzovány knihy dětské literatury, v nichž vystupuje postižený hrdina. Práce podává obraz postiženého hrdiny, jeho proměny v historických i společenských kontextech.

Abstract:

This thesis is regarded to children´s literature, concerning preferably on the topic of impairments. In the first part there are theoretically described both, mental and physical impairments and the children´s literature in general. In the practical part there are analysed children´s books, where a handicapped character is the hero. The thesis focuses on the picture of the handicapped character and studies his particular changes in historical and social contexts.
