Healthcare women (and men) literacy in the issue of HPV infection

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se skládá z teoretické a praktické části. V této práci se věnujeme zdravotní gramotnosti žen a mužů v problematice HPV infekce. V teoretické části je popsán výraz zdravotní gramotnost a anatomie ženských a mužských pohlavních orgánů. Dále je poskytnut stručný obsah problematiky HPV infekce, jako je její historie, samotná klasifikace viru, přenos, genetika, imunita, projevy infekce a její účast na různých rakovinných onemocněních, zejména rakovině děložního čípku. Vzhledem k tomu, že zdravotní gramotnost je jedním z hlavních pilířů prevence, věnujeme také pojmu prevence pozornost v samostatné kapitole. Jelikož se v této práci zaměřujeme i na rozsah zodpovědného sexuálního chování, je na konci teoretické části zahrnuta kapitola o bezpečném sexu. Praktická část je věnována výsledkům získaných z dotazníkového šetření. Výzkumným souborem byli muži a ženy. Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce bylo zjistit zdravotní gramotnost žen a mužů v problematice HPV infekce. Dílčím cílem bylo porovnání této gramotnosti mezi ženami a muži, zjištění rozsahu povědomí o možnostech prevence proti infekci HPV a porovnání zodpovědného sexuálního chování mezi nimi. Získaná data byla vyhodnocena a znázorněna grafy a tabulkami.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis consisnts of theoretical part and practical part. It deals with medical literacy of people that deals with HPV infection. Theoretical part consinsts of theory behind medical literacy and anatomy of genitals, either men or women. Afterwards, there is described the problem behind the HPV infections such as its history, virus classification, transmission, genetics, immunity, sings of infections and contribution to different cancers especially cervical cancer. Considering the fact that medical literacy is one of the main pillars of prevention, there is a chapter included about prevention. Because my work is aimed at responsible sex as well, I included a chapter about safe sex at the end of my theoretical part. Practical part is aimed at the resulst of recieved from surveys. Subjects were men and women. The main aim of the thesis was to find out the problems behind the medical literacy of HPV infection. Partial goals are to compare the literace between men and women, to find the range of knowledge about the possibilities of prevention against HPV infections. And the comparation of safe sex between them. Recieved data were evaluated and shown by graphs and by tables.
