The Roma and the execution of the imprisonment sentence

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce bylo zjištění potřebnosti resocializačních aktivit a programů zacházení pro občany romské národnosti ve výkonu trestu odnětí svobody nacházejícími se toho času ve Vazební věznici Ostrava, a to s ohledem na jejich rodinné zázemí a způsob opatřování finančních prostředků před nástupem do výkonu trestu. V teoretické části byla zmapována problematika romské menšiny, její znaky a charakteristiky i historický vývoj. Byl definován výkon trestu odnětí svobody a jeho účel. Prostor byl věnován vývoji vězeňství v České republice, Vězeňské službě ČR a Vazební věznici Ostrava, ve které bylo prováděno dotazníkové šetření. V praktické části byla popsána příprava a provedení dotazníkového šetření, které se uskutečnilo ve Vazební věznici Ostrava, a vyhodnoceny jeho výstupy. Byly ověřeny stanovené hypotézy a zodpovězeny průzkumné otázky. Na základě zjištění bylo navrženo doporučení.

Abstract:

The aim of the diploma thesis was to determine the need for resocialization courses and treatment programs for the Roma citizens serving the execution of the imprisonment sentence located at the Ostrava Remand Prison at that time, with regard to their family background and the way of raising funds before the commencement of the execution of a sentence. The theoretical part mapped the issue of the Roma minority, its features and characteristics and historical development. The execution of the imprisonment sentence and its purpose were defined. The space was dedicated to the development of prisons in the Czech Republic, the Prison Service of the Czech Republic and the Ostrava Remand Prison, where a questionnaire survey was conducted. The practical part described the preparation and implementation of a questionnaire survey, which took place in the Ostrava Remand Prison, and evaluated its outputs. The established hypotheses were verified and exploratory questions were answered. Based on the findings, a recommendation was proposed.
