Islam- real threat or just fear of the unknown?

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je popsat působení islámu jako specifického kulturního a náboženského směru pomocí analýzy vybraných teorií v odborné literatuře. Dílčím cílem je pak zakotvení této problematiky do souvislostí, konkrétně popisem vzniku a vývoje tohoto náboženského a kulturního směru u nás i ve světě. Součástí je také zachycení hlavních pilířů této víry a dále pak deskripce a objasnění novodobých témat, která se váží k problematice islámu. V neposlední řadě jsou v textu zakotveny vybrané poznatky týkající se výchovy a mravní problematiky zasazené do sociologického kontextu, které lépe vykreslují mentalitu muslimů jako sociální skupiny. Práce se pokouší nabídnout co nejpravdivější a nejobjektivnější pohled na islámskou kulturu vzhledem k dostupným zdrojům a informacím. Výzkumná část práce, která je tvořena diskurzivní analýzou, se pak snaží představit pohled na fungování masmédií, v tomto případě internetového tisku, jako nosiče informací. Na základě této práce je možné lépe se orientovat v problematice islámské víry a muslimské kultury u nás i ve světě a snáze tak předejít tvorbě předsudků. Tato práce pomáhá zároveň vyznat se v informačním moři, jež je složeno ze spousty nepravdivých informací, které pak tyto předsudky vytvářejí.

Abstract:

The main goal of this thesis is to describe an influence of Islam as a specific cultural and religious stream by analysing selected theories in scientific literature. Than the partial goal is to bring this problem into a context, specifically by describing history development of religious and cultural direction in our country and in the world as well. Thesis also includes the capture of the main pillars of the religion, and then brings the description and explanation of contemporary topics that are related to the issue of Islam. Finally, there are selected theories embedded in the text concerning an education and moral issues embedded in sociological context, because that we can better portray the mentality of Muslims as the social group. The labour is trying to offer the truest and the most objective view of Islamic culture in relation to the available resources and information. The research part, which consists of discourse analysis, tries to offer insights into the working of mass media, in this case, Internet printing, as carriers of information. Based on this work, it is possible to better understand the problems of the Islamic faith and Muslim culture in our country and in the world and then it is easier to prevent the formation of prejudices. This work also helps to confess in the information sea, which is composed of a lot of false information and in this case produce these prejudices.
