Social workers experiences with the use of music therapy elements in work with elderly people

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá zkušenostmi pracovníků s prvky muzikoterapie při práci se seniory. Cílem práce je zjistit, jaké zkušenosti mají pracovníci s aktivitami s prvky muzikoterapie při práci se seniory. Konkrétně, jak pracovníci vnímají účinnost muzikoterapie při práci se seniory a jak konkrétně prvky muzikoterapie aplikují v praxi. Zároveň je cílem zjistit, jaké aktivity jsou pro seniory nejpopulárnější a do jakých aktivit se nejraději zapojují. S ohledem na cíle je v práci vymezena muzikoterapie, její metody a techniky. Dále je v práci vymezen pojem stáří, stárnutí a nastíněna problematika stárnutí obyvatelstva. Pro naplnění uvedeného cíle byla zvolena metoda kvalitativního výzkumu a metodou sběru dat byl polostrukturovaný rozhovor vedený s pracovnicemi domovů pro seniory.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the experience of workers with elements of music therapy in their work with the elderly. The aim of the thesis is to find out what experiences social workers have with activities with elements of music therapy when working with the elderly. How workers perceive the effectiveness of music therapy when working with the elderly and how they specifically apply elements of music therapy in practice. The aim is also to find out what activities are most popular with seniors and what activities they prefer to engage in. With regard to the objectives, the thesis defines music therapy, its methods and techniques. Furthermore, the thesis defines the concept of old age, ageing and outlines the issue of ageing of the population. In order to fulfill the stated objective, a qualitative research method was chosen and the method of data collection was a semi structured interview conducted with social workers of homes for the elderly.
