Přechod k demokracii výrazně zasáhl také Československo. V letech 1989 vzniklo Občanské fórum, hnutí, které se přičinilo o nastolení demokratického režimu. Abstract:
The Civic Forum was a political movement established in 1989 in the then Czechoslovakia. Its establishment was the first step towards the shift from the communist totalitarian regime to a democratically-minded society. Unfortunately, the Civic Forum did not last long.
