Abstract:

Diplomová práce zabývá možnosti a podmínkami implementace literatury do výuky cizího jazyka na středních školách. V teoretické části zkoumáme výhody i problematické aspekty užití literatury v hodinách cizího jazyka a vliv čtení a práce s literárními texty na rozvoj jazykových kompetencí u žáků. Dále popisujeme principy, které je nutno brát v potaz, při implementaci literatury do výuky dospívajících studentů cizího jazyka a představujeme strategie, metody i konkrétní aktivity, které se v tomto ohledu ukázaly být efektivní. Praktická sekce sestává z patnácti detailních výukových plánů, které byly vypracovány s přihlédnutím k poznatkům shromážděných v teoretické části práce. Naším cílem bylo vytvořit originální výukové materiály vhodné pro výuku na běžné české střední škole, které by motivovaly studenty primárně k procvičování mluvení, psaní a čtení v cizím jazyce.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with different aspects of incorporating literature into language learning at secondary schools. In the theoretical part, we explore the advantages as well as the problematic aspects of using literature in foreign language classroom. We present how students’ language competences can be developed through reading and responding to different literary texts. We also describe the principles which need to be followed when teaching literature to adolescent language learners. We present different strategies, methods as well as concrete activities which proved to be effective in the field. The practical section consists of fifteen detailed lesson plans which were designed according to the findings gathered in the theoretical part. The aim was to create original teaching materials, suitable for environment of an average Czech Secondary School, which would motivate students for practising speaking and writing skills and for pleasure reading in the target language.
