Comprehensive therapeutic rehabilitation in patients after surgery of an intervertebral disc herniation in the lumbar region

Abstract:

Meziobratlové ploténky v bederní oblasti jsou nejvíce zatěžovanými strukturami páteře. Právě proto dochází k jejich výhřezům nejčastěji v tomto úseku. Operace výhřezu bederní ploténky je jedním z nejběžněji prováděných operačních zákroků na páteři a každoročně stoupá počet provedených výkonů a tedy i pacientů dále odeslaných na rehabilitaci. Obecná část bakalářská práce popisuje anatomické charakteristiky a biomechanické vlastnosti meziobratlové ploténky a podrobně informuje o vlastním degenerativním onemocnění a jeho operační léčbě. Speciální část se zabývá charakteristikou principu a stručným popisem praktického provedení jednotlivých rehabilitačních metod používaných jak v časné pooperační, tak v následné ambulantní léčbě. Práce je zakončena kasuistikou pacientky po operaci výhřezu ploténky v bederní oblasti. Cílem práce je vytvoření přehledu aktuálně používaných metod a zhodnocení jejich účinnosti navzájem.

Abstract:

The intervertebral discs in the lumbar region are the components of the spine exposed to the greatest load. This is why they tend to herniate most in this region. Surgery of a herniated spinal disc in the lumbar region is one of the most common surgeries performed on the spine; the number of interventions is increasing year by year and therefore the number of patients sent for further rehabilitation is also rising. The general part of the Bachelor?s thesis describes the anatomical characteristics and biomechanical properties of a intervertebral disc and provides detailed information about the degenerative disease and its surgical treatment. The special part deals with the characteristics of the principle and a brief description of the practical application of the individual rehabilitation methods used in both the early post-operative and the subsequent outpatient treatment. The thesis concludes with a case study of a female patient after surgery of a herniated intervertebral disc in the lumbar region. The thesis aims to provide an overview of the methods that are currently used and evaluate their effectiveness.
