The interpretation of contemporary music from the view of a conductor

Abstract:

Disertační práce „Interpretace soudobé hudby z pohledu dirigenta“ se zaměřuje na dirigentskou problematiku při studiu a provádění soudobých partitur. Je uvedena stručným vhledem do vývoje soudobé hudby od počátku dvacátého století a rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Všímá si základních hudebních atributů jako jsou tónové výšky, délky, barva zvuku a instrumentace, jakož i originálních hudebních útvarů a disciplín, které se v tzv. klasické hudbě nevyskytují (např.: multimediální projekty). Praktická část je věnována návrhům řešení konkrétních situací a je doplněna četnými příklady realizací obdobných případů. Práce si nedělá nárok na jakoukoliv univerzální příručku k dané problematice, ale chce být praktickým pomocníkem při realizaci soudobých skladeb a také přinést podněty k zamyšlení.

Abstract:

The dissertation "The interpretation of contemporary music from the view of a conductor" is focused on the conduction problematics in the study and performance of modern scores. It opens with a brief insight into the development of the contemporary music from the beginning of the 20th century and it is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. It is concerned with the basic musical attributes such as pitch, length, timbre and instrumentation, but aslo with original musical units and disciplines which are not present in the so-called clasical music (eg. multimedia projects). The practical part is dedicated to proposals of solutions of specific situations and is accompanied by numerous examples of realization of similar cases. The paper does not claim to be an universal manual for the said matter but wants to be a practical guide for realization of contemporary musical pieces as well as bring some impulses for the thought.
