Resources of social support for carers in the performance of elderly care in the home environment

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce pojednává o zdrojích sociální opory pečujících osob při výkonu péče o seniory v domácím prostředí. Cílem diplomové práce je popsat a zjistit zdroje sociální opory pečujících osob při výkonu péče o seniory v domácím prostředí ve městě Karviná. Práce je rozdělena do dvou hlavních částí - teoretické a výzkumné. Teoretická část v první kapitole popisuje základní pojmy a fenomén stáří z různých úhlů pohledů. Druhá kapitola cílí na potřeby seniorů, rozhodování pečujících osob péči zajišťovat, jejich motivaci a také na příležitosti a hrozby pečujících osob. Třetí kapitola popisuje vybrané oblasti sociální opory. Praktická část této práce popisuje kvalitativní výzkum metodou případové studie, kde jako technika sběru dat byl zvolen polostrukturovaný rozhovor. Z rozhovorů vyplynulo, že za nejdůležitější zdroj sociální opory pečující osoby považují rodinu.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with resources of social support for carers in the performance of elderly care in the home environment. The aim of the diploma thesis is to describe and find out resources of social support of carers when providing care for the elderly in the home environment in the city of Karviná. The work is divided into two main parts - theoretical and research. The theoretical part in the first chapter describes basic concepts and the phenomenon of old age from different points of view. The second chapter focuses on the needs of the elderly, the decisions of carers to provide care, their motivation as carers, as well as the opportunities and threats of carers. The third chapter describes selected areas of social support. The practical part of this thesis describes qualitative research using the case study method, where a semi-structured interview was chosen as the data collection technique. The interviews showed that the family is considered the most important resource of social support by carers.
