The issue of adapting the elderly in the social residential servise

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá adaptační problematikou seniorů v sociální pobytové službě. Cílem práce je popsat, k jakým změnám dochází u seniorů v průběhu adaptace na sociální pobytovou službu v oblasti somatické, psychické a sociální a dále zjistit, které faktory z pohledu seniorů průběh adaptace nejvíce ovlivňují. V teoretické části vymezujeme pojmy stáří, stárnutí, prostředí, druhy adaptace a její způsoby, dále faktory, které mohou adaptaci ovlivňovat. Zabýváme se také pohledem na problematiku péče o seniory v historii a dnes. V empirické části prezentujeme výsledky vlastního výzkumného šetření, ke kterému jsme přistoupili kvalitativním způsobem. Jako techniku sběru dat jsme zvolili hloubkové polostrukturované rozhovory se seniory. Důležitým výstupem diplomové práce je soubor opatření, která by mohla seniorům usnadnit proces adaptace v sociální pobytové službě a zároveň sloužit jako námět pro práci pracovníků působících v dané problematice.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the adaptation problems of seniors in a social residential service. The aim of the thesis is to describe what changes occur in seniors during adaptation to social residential services in the somatic, psychological and social areas and to find out which factors from the perspective of seniors affect the course of adaptation the most. In the theoretical part we define the concepts of old age, ageing, environment, types of adaptation and its methods, as well as factors that can influence adaptation. We also look at the issue of elderly care in history and today. In the empirical part, we present the results of our own research investigation, which was approached in a qualitative manner. As a data collection technique we chose in-depth semi-structured interviews with the elderly. An important output of the thesis is a set of measures that could facilitate the process of adaptation of the seniors in the social residential service and at the same time serve as a theme for the work of the staff working on the issue.
