Suitable Teaching Methods for Pupils Particular Learning Styles in ELT at Primary School

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Vhodné výukové metody pro konkrétní učební styly žáků ve výuce anglického jazyka na základní škole“ pojednává o vztahu výukových metod ke konkrétním stylům učení u vybraných žáků v hodinách anglického jazyka na základní škole. Hlavním cílem práce je zjistit, jaké konkrétní učební styly se vyskytují ve sledovaných skupinách a za použití různých výukových metod porovnat výsledky dosažené v běžné výuce a ve výuce dle učebních stylů. Teoretická část práce se zabývá různými pohledy na učební styly a přehledem výukových metod, které se používají ve výuce anglického jazyka. Poslední část teoretické části se soustřeďuje na jeden konkrétní pohled na učební styly a to na model VAK, tedy vizuální, auditivní a kinestetickou učební preferenci a metody, které lze na jednotlivé preference aplikovat. Praktická část se již konkrétně zaměřuje na použití těchto metod pro konkrétní učební skupiny žáků.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis „Suitable Teaching Methods for Pupils´ Particular Learning Styles in ELT at Primary School“ deals with the relationship between teaching methods and particular learning styles at a chosen group of pupils in English lessons at primary school. The main goal is to investigate which particular learning styles occur in the investigated groups and to confront the results of common lessons with the results in lessons learning according to the learning styles. The theoretical part explores an outline of different view on learning styles and teaching methods in ELT. The last part of the theoretical part concentrates on VAK model – visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning style and methods highly suitable for them. The practical part provides a survey among pupils of a chosen elementary school to confirm the relationship of their individual learning style and used teaching method.
