Abstract:

S rostoucím výskytem počítačových systémů v našich životech získává problém určení jestli počítačový systém poskytuje zamýšlené chování na významu. Jednou z populárních technik formální verifikace systémů je ověřování modelů. Tato technika poskytuje možnost automatické kontroly logické korektnosti daného systému. Velice často korektnost závisí také na přesném načasování akcí systému, a proto je existence nástroje na syntézu hodnot parametrů zaručujících splnění dané specifikace velice žádoucí. Proces syntézy parametrů můžeme vnímat jako zobecnění metody ověřování modelů. Naším celkovým záměrem je přispět k návrhu korektních počítačových systému pomocí poskytnutí efektivního řešení problému syntézy parametrů. Tento problém je v obecné podobě nerozhodnutelný, a proto zavedeme vhodné omezení tohoto problému, pro které následně navrhneme algoritmická řešení a tyto řešení implementujeme v podobě verifikačního nástroje. Naším cílem je taktéž prozkoumat možnosti aplikace heuristik v rámci našeho řešení. Součástí práce budou i případové studie nasazující námi navržené metody.

Abstract:

The problem of deciding whether a computer system delivers an intended behaviour with respect to the given specification gains in importance as computer systems became an essential part of our lives. One of the popular automatic techniques to formal verification of systems is model checking. This technique is applied to check for logical correctness of the systems. Very often the correctness of a time-critical system depends on proper timings and the designers are in the need of tools that would help them derive proper time parameter values that would make the system satisfy the required specification. This parameter synthesis process can be viewed as a generalisation of the model checking technique. The aim of the PhD thesis in general is to contribute to the design process of time-critical systems. The main objective of the PhD thesis is to provide an efficient solution to the parameter synthesis problem for systems with real time. This problem is undecidable in general, and therefore we will work on an introduction of appropriate restricted variants of the parameter synthesis problem. Furthermore, our goal is to design algorithms for proposed restricted problems and implement them in a verification tool. We also plan to investigate several heuristics applicable in proposed solutions. As a part of the work, we will provide non-trivial case-studies where proposed methods are deployed.
