Financial management and assessment of the finacial health of an enterprise according IFRS

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá hodnocením finančního zdraví zkoumaného podniku z dvou pohledů. Z pohledu Mezinárodních standardů finančního výkaznictví (IFRS) a z pohledu České účetní legislativy (ČÚL). Cílem práce je zjistit, zda využití IFRS má vliv na hodnocení celkové finanční situace a vybraných poměrových ukazatelů finanční analýzy, které jsou důležitým zdrojem informací v oblasti finančního řízení, především potom v oblastí hodnocení finančního zdraví podniku. V teoretické části je využita primárně metoda rešerše odborné literatury. V praktické části jsou poté využity především analytické metody, konkrétně metoda analýzy, komparace, dedukce a zobecnění. Práce došla k závěru, že u sledované společnosti, kterou je státní podnik Řízení letového provozu České republiky nevede odlišné zobrazení účetní situace pohledem ČÚL v porovnání s pohledem IFRS k zásadním rozdílům. Jsou identifikovány spíše malé odchylky, jež se ovšem výrazněji nepromítají do celkového hodnocení zdraví, které bylo v práci provedeno prostřednictvím vybraných bonitních a bankrotních modelů. Nutné je podotknout, že výsledky výzkumu nelze aplikovat na jinou firmu a v jiném oboru. Řízení letového provozu České republiky je poměrně specifická firma, protože nedisponuje cizím kapitálem v podobě leasingu, ani v podobě jiných úvěrů či půjček, což není pro korporaci takového rozměru zcela typické.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the evaluation of the financial health of the examined company from two perspectives. From the perspective of International financial reporting standards and from the perspective of the Czech accounting legislation. The aim of this thesis is to find out whether the use of IFRS has an impact on the evaluation of the overall financial situation and selected financial ratios, which are an important source of information in the area of financial management, especially in the area of financial health assessment. In the theoretical part is mostly used the method of specialized literature research. In the practical part there are mainly used analytical methods specifically the method of analysis, comparison, deduction and generalization. The thesis concludes that in the monitored company, which is a state-owned company Air traffic control of the Czech Republic, a different presentation of the accounting situation does not lead to significant differences from the point of view of the Czech accounting legislation compared to the IFRS. It is necessary to point out that the research results cannot be applied to another company and in another field. Air traffic control of the Czech Republic is a relatively specific company because it does not have foreign capital in the form of leasing, nor in the form of other loans, which is not quite typical for a corporation of this size.
