Provision of health care to foreigners by the Emergency Medical Service in Vysočina region

Abstract:

K výběru tématu Poskytování zdravotní péče cizincům Zdravotnickou záchrannou službou v Kraji Vysočina mě inspiroval fakt, že v posledních letech dochází vlivem volného pohybu osob a volnému pracovnímu trhu k navýšení počtu cizinců u nás pracujících nebo projíždějících. Z toho plyne i větší pravděpodobnost výjezdu zdravotnické záchranné služby k pacientovi cizí národnosti. Práce pojednává o bližším seznámení s problematikou týkající se ošetření cizinců. Bakalářská práce poukazuje na teoretické poznatky ohledně systémů a druhů zdravotní péče a zdravotního pojištění, na postup zdravotnické záchranné služby na ošetření pacienta cizí národnosti. Praktická část se zaměřuje na problematiku výjezdu u pacienta cizí národnosti. Byla vedena formou dotazníkového šetření u zaměstnanců Zdravotnické záchranné služby Kraje Vysočina s cílem zjistit nejčastější indikaci výjezdu, skladbu a počet ošetřených cizinců.

Abstract:

The topic of this thesis is the Provision of Health Care to Foreigners by Emergency Medical Services of the Region of Vysočina. When choosing this topic, I was inspired by the increase of foreigners working there or passing through the region. That is caused by the free movement of people and free market. This results in a higher probability of EMS responses to a foreign patient. The thesis introduces the issue of foreigners' medical treatment in depth. The theoretical part refers to theoretical knowledge of health systems, types of health care, types of health insurance, EMS procedures in case of treating a foreigner patient. The practical part focuses on the departure of the EMS responses to a foreign patient. The research was carried out through a questionnaire survey among employees of Vysočina Region EMS. Its objective was to determine the most frequent indication of EMS responses, and the composition and numbers of foreign patients there.
