Subjective perception of quality of life in prisoners

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou intenzity vnímané úzkosti u vazebně stíhaných osob a osob ve výkonu trestu odnětí svobody. Výzkumným problémem této diplomové práce je to, zda intenzita úzkosti u vězněných osob souvisí s lokalitou vězeňského zařízení. K výzkumnému projektu je přistupováno kvantitativně vzhledem k povaze předmětu této diplomové práce. Respondenti byli vybráni na základě záměrného výběru. Data byla získána metodou strukturovaného dotazníku, k jejich statistickému vyhodnocení byla využita metoda testu dobré schody Chí-kvadrát. Pro potvrzení získaných dat byla dále využita statistická metoda k měření závislosti tzv. čtyřpolní korelační koeficient. Z výsledků výzkumu vyplývá, že všichni vybraní respondenti z daných věznic vykazují symptomy úzkosti. Dále bylo zjištěno, že lokalita vězeňského zařízení, v našem případě Vazební věznice Litoměřice má statisticky vyšší dopad na prožívání úzkosti u vazebně stíhaných jedinců než u odsouzených z příbramské věznice. Tudíž výsledky odpovídají předpokladům, že je v této vazební věznici zvýšený výskyt stresové zátěže, úzkosti a strachu u obviněných jedinců nežli u odsouzených. Vzhledem ke zvýšenému prožívání úzkosti může mezi obviněnými jedinci narůstat výskyt agrese, násilí, sebepoškozování, sebevražedné jednání a užívání omamných a psychotropních látek.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of the intensity of perceived anxiety in persons under arrest and in prison. The research problem of this diploma thesis is whether the intensity of anxiety in imprisoned persons is related to the location of the prison facility. The research project is approached quantitatively due to the nature of the subject of this thesis. Respondents were selected based on purposive sampling. The data was obtained by the method of a structured questionnaire, for the statistical evaluation of which the Chi-squared test method was used, to confirm the obtained data, the statistical method of measuring dependence, the four-field correlation coefficient, was also used.he results of the research show that all the selected respondents from the given prisons show symptoms of anxiety. Furthermore, it was found that the location of the prison facility, in our case the Litoměřice Prison, has a statistically higher impact on the experience of anxiety among remand individuals than among convicts from the Příbram prison. Therefore, the results correspond to the assumptions that there is an increased incidence of stress, anxiety and fear in accused individuals than in convicts in this remand prison. Due to the increased experience of anxiety, the incidence of aggression, violence, self-harm, suicidal behavior and the use of narcotic and psychotropic substances may increase among accused individuals.
