Early Enteral Nutrition in the Intensive Care

Abstract:

Předmětem této bakalářské práce je časné zahájení enterální výživy v intenzivní péči. Výzkum byl prováděn v 5 nemocnicích jednoho kraje na jednotkách intenzivní péče interního typu. Teoretická část zahrnuje poznatky o malnutrici, hodnocení malnutrice a rozdělení umělé výživy. Část práce popisuje především gastrickou enterální výživu, její časné zahájení, způsoby aplikace a metody podávání, aplikační cesty, výskyt komplikací a úlohu všeobecné sestry. Praktická část se zabývá znalostmi všeobecných sester v oblasti časného zahájení enterální výživy u indikovaných pacientů včetně zajištění aplikační cesty a její kontroly. Jsou zhodnoceny i nejčastější komplikace spojené s podáváním enterální výživy. V diskuzi jsou vyhodnoceny výzkumné otázky, které ověřují teoretické znalosti všeobecných sester aplikované do praxe. Výsledky výzkumné práce jsou porovnány s literárními zdroji. V závěru jsou také zhodnoceny výsledky výzkumu se stanovenými cíly. Výstupem z bakalářské práce jsou návrhy protokolů k zahájení podávání enterální výživy.

Abstract:

The subject of this bachelor thesis is an assessment of an early initiation of enteral nutrition in intensive care units. The research was carried out in five hospitals of one region in intensive care units of internal type. The theoretical part includes the knowledge about malnutrition, assessment of malnutrition and evaluation of the distribution of artificial nutrition. One part of the thesis describes mainly enteral nutrition, its early start, application methods and methods of administration, application paths, and the incidence of complications and the role of general nurses. The practical part deals with the knowledge of general nurses in the field of an early initiation of enteral nutrition in selected patients, including ensuring the application path and its control. The most common complications associated with the use of enteral nutrition are evaluated. Questions which verify the theoretical knowledge of general nurses applied in practice are analyzed in the discussion of the research. Research results are compared with literature sources. In conclusion, the results of the research are also evaluated with the established objectives. The results of the thesis are proposals of protocols for the initiation of enteral nutrition.
