The impact of social networks on the development of Facebook

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem: Vliv sociálních sítí na vývoj Facebooku se zabývá retrospektivou vývoje největší sociální sítě Facebook od založení až do současnosti. Práce se skládá ze tří hlavních částí. První část se věnuje Facebooku a sociálním sítím obecně. Jejich základnímu i geografickému rozdělení, problematice ochraně osobních dat a soukromí na sociálních sítích, pozitivním i negativním vlivům. Další část se zabývá samotným Facebookem, jeho historií a nejznámějšími funkcemi v podobě News Feedu, Timeline profilu nebo sociálními pluginy. Jsou zde zmíněny klíčové události ve vývoji Facebooku a historie sociálních sítí. V závěru první části mé práce se zmiňuji o ostatních významných sociálních sítích současné doby. V druhé části mé práce se věnuji vlivům sociálních sítí a událostem, které změnily Facebook do podoby, v jaké ho známe dnes. Prioritně vlivům největších sociálních sítí, geolokačním službám, akvizici Instagramu, rozvoji sociálních pluginů a vývoji uživatelského rozhraní. Třetí a závěrečná část práce shrnuje největší události, které ovlivnily Facebook a nastiňuje další možný budoucí vývoj sociální sítě Facebook a webu.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis entitled "The Impact of Social Networks on the Development of Facebook" deals with the development retrospective of the largest social network, Facebook, since the establishment up to the present. The thesis is composed of the three main parts. The first part deals with Facebook and social networks in general, their basic and geographical distribution, the issue of Privacy policy on social networks, and positive and negative effects. The following part discusses Facebook itself, its history and the best known features in terms of News Feed, Timeline profile or social plugins. The key events in the development of Facebook and the history of social networks are mentioned here. In the conclusion of the first part, the other significant present-day social networks are mentioned. The second part of the Thesis is devoted to the effects of social networks and events that helped to transform Facebook into the form we know it today. Most importantly, this section deals with the effects of the largest social networks, geolocation services, Instagram acquisition, the development of social plugins and the user interface. The third and final part summarizes the most important events that have affected Facebook and outlines the possible future development of the social network, Facebook, and the web.
