Module for monitoring selected greenhouse gases during the rearing of mealworms

Abstract:

Tato práce je zaměřena na návrh a realizaci měřicího systému vybraných skleníkových plynů produkovanými chovem jedlého hmyzu se zaměřením na potemníka moučného (Tenebrio molitor). V první části je seznámení s dostupnými metodami měření těchto plynů u průmyslově chovaných zvířat s vybráním vhodné metody aplikovatelné na chov potemníka moučného. Těchto informací je využito pro vývoj měřícího modulu. Celé zařízení řídí mikrokontroler ESP32 firmy Espressif. Tato práce ukazuje programování tohoto mikrokontroleru a měření plynů zejména pomocí plynových senzorů řady MQ. V závěru práce je provedeno kontrolní měření pro ověření správného chodu modulu a vyhodnocení možnosti použití a případné limity tohoto modulu.

Abstract:

This work is focused on the design and implementation of a measurement system for selected greenhouse gases produced by the breeding of edible insects with a focus on the mealybug (Tenebrio molitor). In the first part, the available methods for measuring these gases in industrially reared animals are presented with the selection of a suitable method applicable to the rearing of the mealybug. This information is used for the development of the measurement module. The whole device is controlled by an ESP32 microcontroller from Espressif. This work shows the programming of this microcontroller, and the mea-surement of gases, in particular using MQ series gas sensors. At the end of the work, a control measurement is performed to verify the correct operation of the module and to evaluate the applicability and possible limits of this module.
