Restructuralization of Rural Settlement in Liberec Region

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem Restrukturalizace venkovského osídlení Libereckého kraje. Jejím hlavním cílem je charakterizovat vývoj venkovské sídelní struktury Libereckého kraje v současné podobě hranic, kde prostřednictvím analýzy rozmístění obyvatelstva od roku 1869 do roku 2011 dojde k vysvětlení těchto změn v kontextu procesu restrukturalizace venkova. První, teoretická část práce je založena na metodách popisných, definující pojmy jako venkov, venkovské osídlení, restrukturalizace venkova a procesy s ní spojené. Druhá část práce se zabývá zpracováním vstupních dat, demografických ukazatelů, demografických nástrojů a kartografických metod. Úvod aplikační části je věnován fyzicko-geografické a socioekonomické charakteristice Libereckého kraje. Stěžejní část celé práce je zaměřená na rozbor dat ve čtyřech zkoumaných obdobích (1869?1930, 1930?1950, 1950?1991, 1991?2011). Interpretace výsledků naznačuje, že v období od roku 1869?1991 docházelo na území Libereckého kraje k vylidňování venkovských oblastí a ke koncentraci obyvatelstva do měst, zejména díky industrializačním a urbanizačním procesům. V posledním sledovaném období je však zaznamenána změna trendu, kdy dochází k pozvolné dekoncentraci obyvatelstva, díky rozvoji suburbanizačních a kontraurbanizačních procesů.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the Restructuralization of Rural Settlements in Liberec Region. Its main objective is to characterize rural settlement structure of the Liberec region in its current borders, which, through analysis of population distribution from 1869 to 2011 will explain these changes in the context of the rural restructuring. The first, theoretical part is based on the methods of description, defining concepts such as rural, rural settlement, rural restructuring and processes associated with them. The second part deals with the processing of input data, demographics, demographic tools and cartographic methods. Introduction of the application part is devoted to physio-geographical and socio-economic characteristics of the Liberec region. The fundamental part of the work is focused on the analysis of data in four surveyed periods (1869?1930, 1930?1950, 1950?1991, 1991?2011). Interpretation of the results indicates that in the period 1869?1991 occurred in the Liberec Region depopulation of rural areas and the concentration of population in towns, mainly due to industrialization and urbanization processes. In the last period, however, we recorded a change of trend, which leads to a gradual deconcentration of the population, thanks to the development of suburbanization and counterurbanization processes.
