Determinants of bond yields in the period of low interest rates

Abstract:

Disertační práce se zabývá determinanty dluhopisového výnosu v období nízkých úrokových sazeb. V teoretické části jsou identifikovány hlavní determinanty ovlivňující dluhopisový výnos na základě odborných studií. V empirické části je analýza determinantů provedena jednak pomocí regresních analýz a také pomocí výnosových křivek. Výsledky ukazují, že existují determinanty, které ovlivňují dluhopisový výnos významněji v dobách nízkých úrokových sazeb, a že výnosové křivky vládní a korporátních dluhopisů jsou schopny identifikovat možná rizika, která ovlivňují dluhopisový výnos.

Abstract:

The dissertation deals with the determinants of bond yield in the period of low interest rates. The theoretical part identifies the main determinants affecting bond yield based on studies. In the empirical part, the analysis of determinants is performed using regression analysis as well as yield curves. The results show that there are determinants that affect bond yields more significantly in times of low interest rates, and that the yield curves of government and corporate bonds can identify possible risks that affect bond yields.
