Dark side of the German army. Punishment in the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS (1941-1945).

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se snaží v obryse poukázat na fakt, že německý voják,zobrazený na mnoha propagandistických dobových plakátech a ve vojensky zaměřených publikacích,ve své podstatě neexistuje. Obraz německé armády utvářený společností, je neustále předmětem četných historických a politických střetů. Vybraná témata jsou v českém prostředí málo známá a opomíjená, především skutečnost, že se na válečných zločinech,páchaných především jednotkami SS, spolupodílely jednotky Wehrmachtu. Bez jejich přispění by holocaust nenabyl tak obrovských rozměrů; a ještě méně víme o trestu uvnitř armády, přičemž postoj řadového vojáka pod tlakem příslušného plnění rozkazů ve většině popisů války nenajdeme.Práce se zaměřuje na disciplínu a morálku v armádě jako dva hlavní faktory, které jsou základem pro rozhodnutí spáchat zločin. Pokud již je spáchán, nastupuje soudní moc státu (v civilní a vojenské složce), aby jej podle svého uvážení a na základě uplatňovaného práva potrestala. Kde je trest, existuje i jeho náprava. Zde vybrané kauzy od vojáka až po generála předchází málo známým trestním praporům a jejich specifikacím. Závěrečné pasáže jsou věnovány procesu s právníky a legendě o „čistém“ Wehrmachtu, jako skupinám, které necítí pocit viny za bezpráví, které se v jejich jménu vykonalo.

Abstract:

This thesis tries in outline to highlight the fact that the German soldier, displayed on many contemporary propaganda posters and militarily oriented publications, in essence, does not exist. Image of the German army shaping society, is still a subject of numerous historical and political conflicts. Selected topics are little known Czech environment and neglected, especially the fact that the war crimes committed by mainly by the SS, Wehrmacht units participated. Without their contribution by the Holocaust did not receive such huge dimensions, and even fewer know the sentence within the military, the attitude enlisted man under pressure the fulfillment of orders in most descriptions of war find it. The work focuses on discipline and morale in the army as the two main factors that are the basis for the decision to commit a crime. If it is already committed, started judicial power of the state (in the civilian and military elements) it according to his discretion and under applicable law punished. Where is punishment, there is also the axle. You selected cases from soldier to Generality prior to the little-known penal battalions and their specifications. The final sections are devoted to the process with lawyers and the legend of the "clean" Wehrmacht, as groups that feel guilt for the injustice that is done in their name.
