Effects of pedometer interventions on BMI, blood pressure, blood parameters and daily step count in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus - a meta-analysis

Abstract:

This work consists of two parts: In the first part, the most important theoretical principles of type 2 diabetes mellitus and the effect of physical activity on the health parameters of patients with T2DM are presented. The second part deals with the literature review and analysis. Potential studies are selected that use pedometer intervention to increase and/or monitor physical activity and assess its impact on daily step count and health parameters in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Through this analysis, a favorable form of pedometer intervention should be found in order to motivate patients to engage in regular physical activity and thereby achieve better health outcomes. The aim of this work is to understand the effectiveness of pedometers and to keep them as a possible easy-to-use intervention in the treatment of T2DM.

Abstract:

V první části DP jsou uvedeny nejdůležitější teoretické principy diabetes mellitus 2. typu a vliv fyzické aktivity na zdravotní parametry pacientů s T2DM. Druhá část se zabývá literární rešerší a analýzou. Jsou vybrány potenciální studie, které využívají krokoměr ke zvýšení a/nebo sledování fyzické aktivity a hodnotí její dopad na denní počet kroků a zdravotní parametry u pacientů s diabetes mellitus 2. typu. Prostřednictvím této analýzy by měla být nalezena příznivá forma intervence krokoměru, která by pacienty motivovala k pravidelné fyzické aktivitě, a tím dosáhla lepších zdravotních výsledků. Cílem této práce je pochopit účinnost krokoměrů a zachovat je jako možnou snadno použitelnou intervenci v léčbě T2DM.
