Diplomová práce zkoumá jazykové prostředky k upoutání pozornosti v anglicky psaných tištěných inzerátech vydaných po roce 2000. Klíčovým pojmem je cílový čtenář. Jádrem práce je analýza textové složky osmdesáti inzerátů z oblasti kosmetiky, módy a šperků. Zaměřuji se na osm typů strategií, kterými reklama ovlivňuje čtenáře. This thesis deals with attention-catching devices in English print advertisements published after 2000. The key concept is target readership. The core of the thesis is an analysis of the textual part of eighty advertisements for cosmetics, fashion and jewellery. I analyze eight types of strategies that are used to influence readers.
