Property insurance in the Czech insurance market

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá pojištěním nemovitostí na českém pojistném trhu se zaměřením na pojistné produkty nabízené občanům. Cílem této práce je analyzovat a porovnat pojistné produkty vybraných pojišťoven. Pojišťovny byly zvoleny dle podílu na celkovém předepsaném smluvním pojistném v neživotním pojištění na českém pojistném trhu; jsou jimi: Česká pojišťovna a.s., Kooperativa pojišťovna, a.s., Vienna Insurance Group a Allianz pojišťovna, a.s. V závěru práce jsou uvedeny modelové situace, kde jsou zkoumány nabídky těchto tří pojišťoven. Výše pojistného modelových nemovitostí je zjišťována v závislosti na různých povodňových oblastech. Z výsledků vyplývá, že výše pojistného se v jednotlivých povodňových zónách vybraných pojišťoven zásadně neliší. Klient by se tedy při výběru pojištění měl spíše zaměřit na analýzu pojistných nebezpečí (krytých pojištěním) a výší limitů pojistného plnění.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the property insurance in the Czech insurance market with a focus on insurance products that are offered to citizens. The aim of the thesis is to analyze and compare insurance products of selected insurance companies. The insurance companies were selected according to their share in total contractual written premiums in non-life insurance contract in the Czech insurance market; these are: Česká pojišťovna a.s., Kooperativa pojišťovna, a.s., Vienna Insurance Group and Allianz pojišťovna, a.s. The thesis conclusion presents model situations that analyse offers of these three insurance companies. The amount of insurance for model estates is examined in relation to different flood areas. The results show, that there is no significant difference in the amount of insurance in the individual flood zone of selected insurance companies. Therefore, when choosing the insurance, clients should focus rather on the analysing of insurance risks (covered by insurance) and the limits of indemnity.
