Activating teaching methods and motivational techniques in school physical education

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá využíváním aktivizujících výukových metod a motivačních postupů v hodinách školní tělesné výchovy. Sběr dat probíhal prostřednictvím pořizování video nahrávek hodin tělesné výchovy. Bylo natočeno celkem 6 učitelů, od každého 2 vyučovací hodiny. Každý zúčastněný učitel má jinou délku učitelské praxe a věk. Cílem této diplomové práce bylo posoudit, zda se motivac?ni? postupy uc?itelů a aktivizuji?ci? vy?ukove? metody využívané na běžných středních školách v hodina?ch te?lesne? vy?chovy lis?i? v závislosti na zkušenostech, délce praxe učitelů a zda jsou rozdíly u mužů a žen. Hlavním zjištěním této práce bylo, že všichni natočení učitelé vedli svou výuky tradičním způsobem, tzn. bez využívání moderních technologií a přístupů. Dalším zjištěním bylo, že více aktivizujících metod a motivačních postupů používaly ženy. V hodinách byly využívány pouze 2 druhy aktivizujících metod, a to didaktická hra a v menší míře heuristické řešení problému. Celkově byly aktivizující metody do hodin zařazeny velmi málo. Nejčastěji využívaným motivačním prostředkem byla názorná ukázka a předcvičování. Věk a délka učitelské praxe neměly žádný zásadní vliv.

Abstract:

This thesis explores the use of activating teaching methods and motivational techniques in school physical education classes. Data collection was carried out through video recordings of physical education lessons. A total of 6 teachers were filmed, with 2 teaching hours from each. Each participating teacher had a different length of teaching experience and age. The aim of this thesis was to assess whether the motivational techniques and activating teaching methods used in regular high schools during physical education lessons differ depending on the teachers' experience, length of practice, and whether there are differences between men and women. The main finding of this work was that all recorded teachers conducted their teaching in a traditional manner, i.e., without the use of modern technologies and approaches. Another finding was that women used more activating methods and motivational techniques in their classes. Only 2 types of activating methods were used in the classes: the didactic game and, to a lesser extent, heuristic problem-solving. Overall, activating methods were very rarely incorporated into the lessons. The most commonly used motivational tool was demonstrative example and pre-exercise. Age and length of teaching experience had no significant impact.
