Controlling in a company operating in logistics services

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá aplikací controllingových metod v prostředí obchodní společnosti působící v oblasti mezinárodních logistických a přepravních služeb. Vzhledem k aktuálním změnám vyvolaných probíhající ekonomickou krizí, která se značně projevila i v prostředí logistického trhu, je potřeba provést analýzu nákladové stránky společnosti i jejího obchodního modelu a strategii. V teoretické části této práce byly shrnuty hlavní prvky a metody controllingu v obecné i pro společnost charakteristické rovině. Hlavní důraz je zde kladen na obecné zásady a druhy controllingu, osobu controllera v organizaci společnosti, metody analýzy nákladů a metodu krycího příspěvku ve víceúrovňovém složení. V praktické části jsou poté teoratické zásady aplikovány na konkrétní společnost působící na českém logistickém trhu za účelem dosažení stanoveného cíle této práce, tedy provedení analýzy jejích nákladů a výnosů za použítí výše uvedených controllingových metod a následné vyvození dílčích závěrů a doporučení aplikovatelných v reálném modelu řízení této společnosti. Z pohledu autora této práce byly cíle splněny. Výsledná bakalářská práce by měla být pro zkoumanou společnost přínosem v pohledu na vypracování řídící a obchodní strategie pro střednědobý plán.

Abstract:

The aim of this paper is application of controlling methods and mechanisms in environment of a company active in international logistisc and transportation services. The need to conduct such an analysis has occurred mainly due to the ongoing economic decline, which has been very visible in the international transportation industry. First chapter of this paper is reflecting the current state of knowledge about controlling as such, including major controlling principles, expenses analysis methods, contribution margin principle as well as the controller as a person within a company organization structure. The second main chapter is dedicated to application of the theoretical basis in environment of a specific logistics based company within the Czech Republic market. In view of the overall aim of this paper an analysis of its personnel and operative costs as well as a contribution margin break down for its respective forwarding products has been conducted. From the results and on them based recommendations the author states the target to be achieved. The final paper should serve the company as an additional source of management information for conducting correct strategic decisions for the upcoming short to mid-term period.
