Anotácia:

Diplomová práce pojednává o problematice překladu anglicky psané poezie do češtiny, konkrétně pak o překladu vybraných básní ze sbírky Songs of Innocence and of Experience od Williama Blaka. V úvodu práce jsou obsaženy stručné informace o básníkově životě a díle, které jsou nezbytné k správné interpretaci a pochopení jeho díla. Součástí práce je i stručné nastínění problematiky výběru básní k analýze a jejich následná diachronní a synchronní analýza, jejíž výsledky jsou následně analyzovány. V závěru jsou navržena řešení neutěšeného stavu českých překladů sbírky.

Abstract:

The M.A. major thesis deals with the issues of translating English poetry into Czech demonstrated on the selection of poems from Songs of Innocence and of Experience by William Blake. The introduction presents the reader with insight into the life and work of William Blake, which is necessary for the correct interpretation and understanding of his work. The following chapter foreshadows criteria for the selection of the poems, which are to be analyzed both diachronically and synchronically. The results of these analyses are then again analyzed. The conclusion of the thesis contains proposals for remedy of the sorry state of Czech translations of Songs of Innocence and of Experience.
