The Influence of Motivation and Stimulation on Employees Turnover in the Selected Companies

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá identifikací motivačních a stimulačních faktorů v konkrétních firmách. Práce pojímá dvě firmy, odlišné svojí velikostí, které se v posledních letech setkávají s vyšší mírou fluktuace. Nejprve je popisována aktuální situace firem a jejich současný postoj ke stimulaci zaměstnanců. Posléze je pohlíženo na postoj zaměstnanců k nastaveným stimulům a jejich celkovou spokojenost. U obou firem je zkoumána existence závislosti mezi odchodovostí-náborem za pomoci regresní funkce, a také náklady, které firmy vynaloží na jednoho fluktuujícího pracovníka. Dále jsou rozebrány nastavené stimulační programy, které firmy využívají ke stimulaci zaměstnanců. Součásti pojednání je rovněž postoj vedoucích pracovníků. Konkrétně, jakými způsoby motivují zaměstnance a jak řeší neshody na pracovišti. Za pomoci dotazníkového šetření je zjištěna spokojenost pracovníků ve firmách, vnímání nastavených stimulů a jaké pohnutky by je přivedly k odchodu z firmy. Příčiny odchodovosti jsou dále detailněji porovnány se situací na současném trhu práce. Bez ohledu na velikost firmy je nejčastější příčinou k odchodu finanční ohodnocení. Zaměstnance z malé firmy by vedl ke spokojenosti lepší přístup vedoucího pracovníka, příjemnější prostředí a více benefitů. Ve velké firmě je upřednostňována potřeba mít více času na osobní život a akcentován lepší přístup nadřízeného. Nakonec jsou oběma firmám navržena doporučení, jakým způsobem docílit retence zaměstnanců.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis describes the identification of motivational and stimulating factors in specific companies. The thesis covers two companies in different sizes which have experienced a higher turnover rate in recent years. Firstly, the current situation of companies and their current attitude towards employee stimulation is described. Afterwards, the attitude of the employees to the support of incentives and their overall satisfaction is looked at. The existence of a dependence between the turnover rate and recruitment is examined for both companies with the help of a regression function, as well as the costs that the companies spend on one fluctuating worker. In addition, incentive programs that companies use to stimulate employees are discussed as well as attitude of the managers, specifically, in what ways do they motivate employees and how do they resolve disagreements in the workplace. With the help of a questionnaire survey, the satisfaction of workers in companies, the perception of set incentives and what motivations would lead them to leave the company are determined. The reasons for leaving are further compared in more detail with the situation on the current labor market. Regardless of the size of the company, the most common reason for leaving is financial compensation. Employees from a small company would be satisfied with a better approach of the manager, a more pleasant environment and more company benefits. In a large company, priority is given to the need to have more time for personal life and a better attitude of the superior is emphasised. Lastly, recommendations for both companies are proposed on how to achieve employee retention.
