Taxation of unhealthy food

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je na základě přezkoumání problematiky zdanění nezdravých potravin shrnout zjištěné poznatky, porovnat a zhodnotit efektivitu zdanění nezdravých potravin ve vybraných státech a navrhnout možné řešení pro Českou republiku. Teoretická část práce shrnuje poznatky o daňovém systému, spotřebních daních a o dopadech nezdravých potravin na zdraví a další oblasti. Praktická část analyzuje spotřebu nezdravých potravin v České republice, porovnává způsoby zdanění ve vybraných státech a shrnuje názory expertů a účastníků dotazníkového šetření. V poslední části práce jsou na základě zjištěných poznatků nastíněny návrhy možných řešení.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to summarize the findings, compare and evaluate the effectiveness of junk food taxation in selected countries and propose a possible solution for the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the knowledge about the tax system, excise duties and the impact of unhealthy food on health and other areas. The practical part analyses the consumption of unhealthy food in the Czech Republic, compares the taxation methods in selected countries and summarises the opinions of experts and participants in the questionnaire survey. In the last part of the thesis, proposals for possible solutions are outlined based on the findings.
