International labour migration and its implications for the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá mezinárodní pracovní migrací a jejími dopady na ekonomické, demografické a sociální aspekty v České republice. Cílem je zhodnotit vlivy pracovní migrace na český trh práce, populační strukturu a ekonomickou stabilitu a navrhnout opatření k minimalizaci negativních efektů. Práce je rozdělena do čtyř kapitol. První se věnuje teoretickému vymezení migrace, druhá analyzuje migrační trendy v Evropě a legislativní rámce. Třetí kapitola mapuje migrační toky v ČR a jejich vývoj, zatímco čtvrtá zkoumá vliv zahraniční pracovní síly na nezaměstnanost, demografii a ekonomickou bilanci České republiky. Diplomová práce využívá kvantitativní i kvalitativní metody, včetně korelační analýzy, která zkoumá vztah mezi počtem migrantů a mírou nezaměstnanosti. Výsledky potvrzují význam pracovní migrace pro ekonomiku České republiky, zejména při řešení nedostatku pracovní síly a posílení základny ekonomicky aktivních obyvatel. Tyto faktory zároveň pomáhají zmírnit dopady stárnutí populace. Závěry práce rovněž zdůrazňují nutnost efektivní integrace migrantů do společnosti. Práce nabízí ucelený pohled na pracovní migraci v ČR, její přínosy i výzvy, a formuluje doporučení pro budoucí strategie v této oblasti.

Abstract:

Thesis deals with international labour migration and its impact on economic, demographic and social aspects in the Czech Republic. The aim is to evaluate the effects of labour migration on the Czech labour market, population structure and economic stability and to propose measures to minimise the negative effects. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first one deals with the theoretical definition of migration, the second one analyses migration trends in Europe and legislative frameworks. The third chapter maps migration flows in the Czech Republic and their development, while the fourth examines the impact of foreign labour on unemployment, demography and the economic balance of the Czech Republic. The thesis uses both quantitative and qualitative methods, including correlation analysis, which examines the relationship between the number of migrants and unemployment rates. The results confirm the importance of labour migration for the economy of the Czech Republic, particularly in addressing labour shortages and strengthening the base of the economically active population. These factors also help to reduce the effects of population ageing. The conclusions also highlight the need for effective integration of migrants into society. The thesis offers a comprehensive view of labour migration in the Czech Republic, its benefits and challenges, and formulates recommendations for future strategies in this area.
