Abstract:

V roce 2017 vstoupilo v Polské republice v platnost nové nařízení o auditu a s tím byla zavedena povinná rotace auditorských firem. Cílem této diplomové práce je analyzovat externí a interní rotaci auditorů s přihlédnutím na změnu odměn za audit spojených s touto rotací na Varšavské burze cenných papírů u vybraných nemovitostních společností. Analýza je provedena na vzorku celkem 200 výročních zpráv vybraných 25 společností kotovaných na Varšavské burze cenných papírů v rozmezí let 2015–2022. Analýza je zpracována na základě auditorských výroků, v nichž jsou informace o auditorských firmách a klíčových auditních partnerech. Odměny za audit byly převzaty z finančních výkazů vybraných společností. Diplomová práce obsahuje zpracovanou analýzu délky funkčního období, frekvenci rotace auditorských firem, odměny za audit, detail auditorské firmy (zdali je volena společnost z Big4, či nikoliv) a jak se u této změny projeví odměna za audit. S nedávnou regulací evropského auditorského trhu se externí i interní rotace stala častým předmětem zahraničních výzkumů, které jsou blíže popsány v této práci. Výsledek práce ukazuje, že nejvíce provedených změn bylo právě po zavedení povinné externí rotace. Dále práce potvrdila, že nemovitostní společnosti jsou dominantně auditovány společnostmi mimo Big4 a tento trend v průběhu let roste a koncentrace firem na tomto trhu klesá. Dalším zjištěním v této práci byly reakce odměn za audit na externí rotaci. Ty se při rotaci mění a ve většině případů při externí rotaci klesají.

Abstract:

A new audit regulation came into force in 2017 in Poland, and with it, mandatory rotation of audit firms was introduced. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the external and internal rotation of auditors, considering the change in audit fees associated with this rotation on the Warsaw Stock Exchange for selected real estate companies. The analysis is performed on a sample of a total of 200 annual reports of selected 25 companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange between 2015 and 2022. The analysis is based on audit statements, which contain information about audit firms and key audit partners. The audit fees were taken from the financial statements of the selected companies. This diploma thesis contains a processed analysis of the length of the tenure, the frequency of audit firm rotation, audit fees, details of the audit firm (whether a Big4 company is chosen or not) and how this change affects the audit fee. With the recent regulation of the European audit market, external and internal rotation has become a frequent subject of foreign research, which is described in more detail in this work. The result of the work shows that the most changes were made just after the introduction of mandatory external rotation. Furthermore, the thesis confirms that real estate companies are dominantly audited by companies outside the Big4, and this trend is growing over the years and the concentration of companies in this market is decreasing. Another finding in this work was the change of audit fees when external rotation occurred. They change during rotation and in most cases decrease during external rotation.
