Argumantation in serious problems of sexual ethics

Abstract:

Umět správně argumentovat je základem každé společenské debaty, ať už se jedná o politiku, náboženství nebo jinou komunitu. Avšak i nejlepší diskutéři podléhají tlaku okolí i vlastním emocím, což může vést k použití argumentačního faulu. V této práci poznáme, jak argumentují někteří zástupci mnou vybraných náboženských směrů: buddhismu, islámu, judaismu a křesťanství. Protože je u jednotlivých náboženství předpoklad zastávání konzervativních názorů, vybrala jsem pro tuto práci ještě pátý, v argumentech často opoziční celek, a tím je feminismus. Jednotlivé argumenty se poté budou týkat manželského života, potratu, antikoncepce a pohledu na sexualitu obecně. Cílem práce bude předložit argumenty pro a proti jednotlivým tematickým celkům. Taktéž bude práce zaměřena na často používané argumentační fauly.

Abstract:

Being able to argue correctly is the foundation of every social debate whether it is about politics, religion or other. However even the most accomplished debaters can get under the pressure of the environment or their own emotions which can lead to fallacy in their arguments. In this thesis we will explore how various religions approaches argue in different ways, namely it is Buddhism, Islam, Judaism and Christianity. Because the arguments of the religous groups are expected to be conservative I have also chosen a contrasting approach, which is Feminism. The individual arguments will concern marriage, abortion, contraception and the view of sexuality in general. The aim will be to present arguments for and against. This thesis will also focus on the most common fallacies in arguments.
