Informedness prevention of cervical cancer

Abstract:

ABSTRAKT Cíl: Cílem mé práce bylo zjistit informovanost zdravotních sester a porodních asistentek o prevenci a očkování proti rakovině děložního čípku. Zmapovat nejen informace, ale i názor na očkování proti HPV a možnosti využít očkování pro sebe nebo své děti. Metodika: Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 120 osob pracujících jako středně zdravotnický personál ve FN Ostrava. Pro získání údajů byla použita technika nestandardizovaného dotazníku, který se skládá ze 17 otázek. Průzkum byl proveden anonymně v období leden-březen 2010. Výsledky: Šetřením bylo zjištěno, že zdravotníci jsou dostatečně informováni o rakovině děložního čípku, infekci HPV a gynekologickém screeningu, ne však zcela o rizicích a přenosu HPV infekce a druzích očkovacích látek. Závěr: Zdravotníci mají již nějaké informace o HPV infekci a očkování proti rakovině děložního čípku, ale byla by vhodná další edukace zdravotních sester a porodních asistentek v této problematice, aby bylo jejich povědomí o tomto tématu co možná největší. Abstract:

ABSTRACT Objective: The aim of my study was to find out the level of informedness about the cervical cancer prevention and its vaccination among our nurses and midwifes. To detect not only this, but also an oppinion about the HPV vaccination and the possible use of the vaccine for myself and my children. Methods: The research group consisted of 120people working as health care staff at the University Hospital in Ostrava. For data acquizition a method of non- standardized questionaire was used, which comprised of 17 questions. The survey was run anonymously under the period of January- March 2010. Results: We found out that the awareness about cervical cancer, HPV infection and gynecologic screening among the medical staff is sufficient, however in the field of risks, ways of transmission of HPV infection and types of vaccines the knowledge was not that good. Conclusions: Our medical staff has some information about HPV infection and cervical cancer vaccination, but further education of nurses and midwifes would be appropriate in order to increase their informedness about this topic.
