Impacts of COVID-19 on leisure activity in a retirement house

Abstract:

Úkolem diplomové práce s názvem Dopady COVID-19 na volnočasové aktivity v domovech pro seniory je otevřít téma vlivu COVID-19 na aktivizaci v brněnských domovech pro seniory. Klade si za cíl popsat, jaké okolnosti vstupovaly do změn, se kterými se potkávaly brněnské domovy při organizaci aktivizace a srovnává období před šířením nemoci COVID-19, v průběhu jejího šíření a období první poloviny roku 2022, kdy nemoc ustupuje. Teoretická část práce se zabývá především podstatou trávení volného času a vymezení cílové skupiny seniorů. Ve výzkumné části práce se věnuji analýze sedmi polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s organizátory aktivit v brněnských domovech pro seniory. Tyto rozhovory jsou zaměřené zejména na srovnání aktivizace, která v těchto domovech probíhala, v období před pandemii a po ní. Závěr práce tvoří zhodnocení získaných dat a jejich interpretaci.

Abstract:

The objective of this diploma thesis named Impacts of COVID-19 on leisure activity in a retirement house is to assess the impact of COVID-19 on activation lessons on-going in homes for elderly in the city of Brno. The main aim is to describe what cir-cumstances affected changes in organization of these lessons and compare time pe-riods before the spread of COVID-19, during the spread and the time period of the first half of 2022 when the disease subsided. The theoretical part of the thesis de-fines the target group of seniors and explains in which ways they spend their free time. In the research part of the thesis analysis of seven semi-cultured interviews with organizers of activation activities in Brno’s homes for elderly is conducted. These interviews primarily focus on the comparison of the activation lesson that took place in these homes in the period before and after the pandemic. The conclu-sion of the thesis is the evaluation of the obtained data and its interpretation.
