Tato diplomová práce se ve své teoretické části zabývá interkulturní komunikací, různými formami míšení kultur jakož i definicí kultury obecně. Popisuje komplikace, které mohou nastat při kontaktu příslušníků odlišných kultur. Práce se dále věnuje fenoménu tabu.
