"It has happened differently!": Memory and history on the example of expulsion from the region of Broumov

Abstract:

ANOTACE Tato práce se snaží popsat život broumovských Němců ihned po transportu. Jejich vyrovnání se s kolektivním traumatem a následnou snahou o uchování tradic a kultury. Cílem práce, je zjistit, jak se konstruovala identita skupiny, jaká je současná představa domova a jaký mají pamětníci k domovu vztah. Dále pak jakým způsobem tato představa vzniká a je uchovávána v paměti kolektivu. Broumovští Němci nepřijíždějí jen do nového prostoru, ale i do nového prostoru sociálního a kulturního. Necítí se být těmi Němci, které vídají na ulicícha snaží se vyrovnávat se ztrátou.

Abstract:

ABSTRAKT This work tries to describe the life of Broumov Germans immediately after transport. Their coping with collective trauma and subsequent efforts to preserve traditions and culture. The aim of the work is to find out how the identity of the group was constructed, what is the current idea of the home and what is the relationship of witnesses to the home. Furthermore, how this idea is created and stored in the memory of the team. The Germans from Broumov come not only to a new space, but also to a new social and cultural space. They don't feel like the Germans they see on the streets trying to cope with the loss.
