Strategy of coping with difficult life situations of secondary school students

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá náročnými životními situacemi, jejich identifikací a strategiemi jejich zvládání u středoškoláků. V teoretické části jsou vymezeny náročné životní situace (situace stresující, konfliktní, deprivační a frustující), dále je zde charatkeristika copingu a jeho strategií a popis období adolescence jako období, kdy žáci navštěvují střední školu. V praktické části jsou shrnuty poznatky ohledně copingových strategií, výzkum je zaměřen na preferenci copingových strategií u chlapců a dívek.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with difficult life situations, personal tragedies, and the ways how high school youth cope with them. The former is based upon the analysis of situations indicated as difficult (stress, conflict, frustration, deprivation), and further describes coping strategies with respect to the peculiarities of adolescence. The characteristics of adolescence are the topic of a separate chapter. The theoretical part provides background for the practical part. The aim of the latter is to find out, which strategies for coping with stress are used by girls and which by boys.
