Primary Education of Roma Pupils from a Teaching Assistant´s Point of View

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou primárního vzdělávání romských žáků prizmatem asistenta pedagoga. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na charakteristiku romské menšiny, vzdělávání romských žáků v běžných základních školách a roly asistenta pedagoga v edukačním procesu romského žáka. V první kapitole se práce zaměřuje na charakteristiku romské menšiny, a to v kontextu její historie, kultury a postavení dítěte v rodině. V druhé části dále vymezujeme vzdělání romských žáků v běžných základních školách, jejich integraci a inkluzi, specifikaci edukace romských žáků v běžných základních školách a jejich podpůrná opatření poskytovaná v prostředí běžných základních škol. Ve třetí kapitole popisujeme roli asistenta pedagoga v edukačním procesu romského žáka, historický vývoj profese, působení asistenta pedagoga v základní škole hlavního vzdělávacího proudu a jeho význam při práci s romskými žáky. Praktická část je zaměřena na bázi kvalitativního výzkumu, ten si klade za cíl zjistit a popsat, jak asistent pedagoga vnímá edukaci romského žáka v základní škole hlavního vzdělávacího proudu. Data získaná skrze polostrukturovaná interview byla analyzována pomocí dílčích postupů zakotvené teorie.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of primary education of Roma pupils through the prism of a teaching assistant. The theoretical part focuses on the characteristics of the Roma minority, the education of Roma pupils in ordinary primary schools and the role of the teaching assistant in the educational process of a Roma pupil. The first chapter focuses on the characteristics of the Roma minority, in the context of its history, culture and the position of the child in the family. In the second part we further define the education of Roma pupils in ordinary primary schools, their integration and inclusion, the specification of the education of Roma pupils in ordinary primary schools and their support measures provided in the environment of ordinary primary schools. In the third chapter we describe the role of the teaching assistant in the educational process of a Romani pupil, the historical development of the profession, the work of the teaching assistant in a mainstream primary school and its importance in working with Romani pupils. The practical part is focused on the basis of qualitative research, which aims to find out and describe how a teacher's assistant perceives the education of a Romani pupil in mainstream primary school. The data obtained through semi-structured interviews were analyzed using partial procedures of grounded theory.
