Tebukonazol je potenciální polutant a jeho nadměrné využívaní představuje environmetální riziko. Reakcí na vysoký vnos biocidních látek do prostředí je výzkum nanotechnologii. Předtím než budou nanopesticidy i samotné nanočástice převedeny do zemědělské praxe je nutné podrobit je sérií testů hodnotících nejen chemické vlastnosti, ale i jejich vliv na zemědělské plodiny.
