Printed media genres: Feature a collection of texts about people endangered with social exclusion

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce analyzuje žurnalististický žánr feature a aplikaci žánru v českých tištěných médiích. Kromě teoretické analýzy autorka představuje své vlastní feature s reflexemi zaměřenými na stylistický rozbor a kontext jejich vzniku. Feature je v české mediální krajině poměrně nový žánr a stále hledá postavení mezi ostatními žánry. Autorka dále vysvětluje základní pojmy související s termínem sociální exkluze. Ve druhé části práce představuje šest příkladů feature o lidech ohrožených sociálním vyloučením a poté články stylisticky, gramaticky a eticky analyzuje.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis analyses the journalistic genre feature and the application of this genre in the Czech written media. Next to the analysis the author presents her own publish feature stories with explanation. Feature stories are relatively new in Czech media landscape and are still looking for a stronger status among the other genres used in the traditional written media. The author first of all explains the elements of social exclusion in her own feature stories.The second part of this thesis presents six examples of feature stories about people endangered with social exclusion. Afterwards she gives a stylistically, grammatically and ethically analysis of the articles.
