Parents Experience in Dealing with the Loss of a Child

Abstract:

Úmrtí dítěte nikdy není přirozeným jevem, přesto děti dnes a denně umírají. Rodiče se ocitají v nenadálé a těžké životní situaci. Přichází zoufalství, bolest, beznaděj, často se ocitají bez pomoci, neví si rady. Můžou mít pocit, že jejich další život smrtí dítěte pozbyl smysl. Ve své bakalářské práci zjišťuji zkušenosti rodičů, resp. matek s vyrovnáváním se se ztrátou dítěte. V teoretické části objasňuji pojmy, se kterými ve své bakalářské práci pracuji- smrt, truchlení, krize, deprese, intervence. V praktické části popisuji, jak probíhal můj výzkum a dále interpretuji jeho výsledky.

Abstract:

The death of a child is never a natural phenomenon, still today and every day children die.Parents find themselves in an unexpected and difficult situation. When despair and pain come, they feel helpless without knowing what to do. They even may have the feeling that life without their child has lost its meaning. The main purpose of this thesis is to find out about the experience of the parents', and especially the mothers' way of coping with such a loss. The theoretical part lists and defines concepts which are used throughout this work death,mourning, crises, depression, and intervention. The practical part describes the whole process of my research and interprets its results.
