Security aspects of employment of convicted persons in imprisonment

Abstract:

Abstrakt Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vězeňstvím v České republice, se zaměřením na bezpečnost a zaměstnávání osob ve výkonu trestu odnětí svobody. V práci je představena historie vězeňství na území dnešních evropských a zejména českých zemí. V rámci proniknutí do obsáhlé a specifické problematiky jsou v textu objasněny klíčové pojmy týkající se vězeňství. V hlavní části práce je vymezena Vězeňská služba ČR v kontextu ostatních bezpečnostních sborů v ČR. Současně je Vězeňská služba představena z pohledu organizační struktury a její činnosti. V textu jsou představeny konkrétní úkoly Vězeňské služby, skladba zaměstnanců oddělení výkonu trestu a zacházení s odsouzenými. V poslední části teoretického textu je přiblížena problematika vnitřní a vnější bezpečnosti ve věznicích a současně jsou popsány způsoby zaměstnání odsouzených. Celá část práce je zpracována jako teoretické východisko pro její praktickou část, která se zabývá zpracováním informací získaných od zaměstnavatelů odsouzených a analýzou dat týkajících se zneužití institutu zaměstnání vězněnými osobami s cílem stanovit nejefektivnější a nejbezpečnější způsob zaměstnávání odsouzených ve výkonu trestu odnětí svobody.

Abstract:

This Diploma thesis describes Prison system in the Czech Republic, focusing on security and employment of convicted persons serving a prison sentence. The thesis presents the history of prisons in European countries and especially in the Czech Republic. There are described and clarified key Concepts to dive deep into specific problematics of the Prison system. The main part of the thesis describes the Prison Service of the Czech Republic in the context of other security forces in the Czech Republic. Along with that the Organization Structure and main acitvities of the Prison Service are presented The Thesis includes description of the specific tasks of the Prison Service, the Composition of the staff of the prison sentence department. The last part of the theoretical part approaches the issue of internal and external security in prisons and also describes the methods of employment of the convicts. The whole introductory part of the thesis is designed as a theoretical basis for its practical part, which deals with processing information obtained from employers who employes Convicts and than the data are analyzed in context of abuse of Convicts´ employment to identify the most effective and the most secure way how to employ convicts serving prison sentences.
