The online games and social media in the life of secondary school students.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na zmapování role online her, sociálních sítí a digi-tálních technologií v životě a volném čase žáků středních odborných škol. Text bakalářské práce je rozdělen na část teoretickou a empirickou.Teoretická část pojednává o formách využívání volného času, způsobu ko-munikace a problematice využívání digitálních technologií u středoškoláků. Dále o argumentech pro a proti masivnímu využívání digitálních technologií, historic-kých a současných názorech, kde jsou zahrnuty i názory z pohledu pedagogů, psy-kolegů a zdravotníků. Také se teoretická část zabývá sociálně patologickým jevem – závislosti na digitálních technologiích (netolismem) ve světě a České republice a názory odborníků na tento trend dnešní doby.Cílem empirické části je zjistit, pomocí kvantitativního výzkumu, dotazníko-vou metodou zmapovat, v jaké míře se žáci věnují v životě a ve svém volném čase online hrám, digitálním technologiím a současně se pokusí identifikovat míru soci-ální komunikace dospívajících přes virtuální sociální sítě. Průzkum probíhal pomocí online dotazníku a respondenty byly žáci vybraných středních škol. Výsledky budou vyhodnoceny prostřednictvím deskriptivní analýzy s možnými doporučeními, jak s tématem pracovat ve školním prostředí.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis focuses on mapping of the role of online games, social media and digital technologies in the life and leisure time of secondary technical school students. The text of the thesis is divided into a theoretical and an empirical part.The theoretical part deals with the ways students spend their leisure time, how they communicate and what issues are brought about by use of digital tech-nologies by secondary school students. The thesis further argues against massive use of digital technologies, reviewing historic and current opinions, including opinions of teachers, psychologists and healthcare professionals. The theoretical section further tackles the social pathology represented by digital technology (internet) addiction (netholism) in the Czech Republic and globally and presents expert opinions on this trend as a typical phenomenon of our times.The goal of the empirical part is to apply quantitative research using a ques-tionnaire-based method on finding out how students utilise online games and digital technologies in their leisure time. The empirical section further includes an attempt at identification of the level of social communication of adolescents via virtual social networks. The research was implemented through an online questionnaire with selected secondary school students as the respondents. The results were evaluated by means of a descriptive analysis with recommendations for the options of work in the classroom environment.
